CULTURES

We are pleased to announce we can now offer our clients a culturing service.

FULL FAECAL & SWAB CULTURE WITH SENSITIVITY 

This test includes a comprehensive culture of extensive bacterial strains for when a problem is present or you wish to check the overall gut health including good bacteria in your birds. 
This test includes the analysis of E-Coli strains, many types of Salmonella and sensitivity as appropriate. 

A dry swab will be provided, you will need to swab down the throat and wiping of the cleft, and place swab back into tube

A collection of fresh faeces will be required for this culture in tube provided.

SALMONELLA CULTURE 

This test looks for types of Salmonella. 
If found the laboratory will define the Salmonella and define if it is zoonotic. 
A Collection of fresh faeces will be required for this culture in tube provided.

SWAB  CULTURE 

This culture is specifically looking for bacterial strains for when a problem is present.
A dry swab will be provided you will need to swab down the throat, and wiping of the cleft. Place the swab into the tube provided.

CHLAMYDIA PCR 

This PCR is specifically to test for Chlamydia.
You will need to collect fresh faeces on Day 1, 3, 10 & 12 and put into the same container, please keep in fridge from Day 1 to Day 12.

RESULTS 

Results will normally be ready in 5-7 working days.  You will be contacted once results received at the centre.
